La Ola (The Wave) provides shelter, love, guidance, and education in a family environment to girls in need. Founded January 1, 2010, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported primarily by private funding. Our scope is more than that of an orphanage in that we care for abandoned, and abused girls as well as those from impoverished local communities whose families entrust them into our care for the safety and an opportunity to have a good education and improved quality of life. Since 2010, La Ola has provided care for more than a hundred young girls to help break the cycle of poverty, abuse, and abandonment and find their way into a new life.
In 2021, CLAF supported La Ola, A.C., to build a new house and school for up to 100 girls. Its construction started in 2020, has been compromised by the current pandemia and international economic shutdown.
