What is CLAF?

The Chapala Lake Art Festival, an international annual event, is founded in 2021 by Oscar Villarreal with the purpose of making the Chapala Riviera a new reference for contemporary Art at national and international level. It's mission is to create a world-wide platform to attract the best actors in the world of art, emerging and

confirmed, in its different expressions. Its objective is two-fold: boost local economy and labor markets in the region, and support concrete,

social sustainable projects in the area.

CLAF is a space for emerging and established artists alike to make an impact. The heart of the festival is for art to change lives. We do this by exposing people from all walks of life to an immersive experience that captivates all the senses. We also do this by leading social, local initiatives that can leave lasting effects in the community.
