Artist Trajectory
Gitte Winthers paintings are inspired by concepts drawn from Color field Painting and Pop Art, yet the perspective is more formalistic. It´s process oriented and each step in the construction of the painting is a part of a whole, a piece in assembling a puzzle which in itself is a utopia.
The shapes and color within the field suggest both physical presence and concept. The painting does not end at the edge of the canvas, but flows over and develops into the next canvas.
